Latrobe 4th of July Celebration

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA BAKE-OFF

Contestants will create a dessert using our theme, “America’s Birthday” as inspiration. This could be anything from a standard birthday cake to a specialty cookie, pie, cupcake, or whatever you can think up! Registration and dessert drop-off will take place on Saturday, July 4 at the Robindale Large Pavilion at Legion Keener Park between 4:00pm-4:30pm. The winners will be announced once all scores are tallied and a dessert auction will follow with funds going to support the Celebration.

All amateur bakers are welcome and there will be two categories:

-Adult Amateur (age 18+)

-Youth (age 17 and under)

GUIDELINES

  1. This is a free event.

  2. Only one submission per baker.

  3. Submissions must be home-cooked (not store-bought).

  4. Baked goods are to be prepared in a sanitary manner.

  5. All baked goods must be fully baked and complete.

  6. Bakers need to use their own decorations and containers. It is recommended to use containers that can be thrown away.

  7. Please feel free to make extra as we would absolutely love to use it in a bake sale to support the Celebration.

  8. Please do not submit anything that requires refrigeration.

  9. During drop-off, you will be given a registration form and an ID number for your entry. Please make sure your dessert has a name.

Contest Day:

1.      Check-in begins at 4:00 pm and ends at 4:30 pm and takes place at the Large Pavilion at Legion Keener Park.

2.      Contestants are welcome to be present during judging. Winners will be announced once all scores are tallied and audited.

The Scoring System:

  1. Contestants will be judged on taste, creativity, and appearance/presentation.

  2. We have a Celebrity Judge, Executive Chef Adam Flood of Mailey’s Provisions.

  3. The Contest Committee will tally all of the ballots. The contestant with the highest score for each category will be the winner! If there is a tie, a second person will be brought in to judge between the two finalists.

PRIZES:

Amateur Adult: Coveted Celebration Chef Hat and $100 cash

Youth: Coveted Celebration Chef Hat, $50 Amazon Gift Card, and Baking Supplies
